On a low car like the Mustang the underglow sits close to the ground for a tight, intense line of light. Mount the front strips behind the splitter, the sides under the rockers, and the rears under the diffuser. Does underglow clear speed bumps on a low Mustang?
Tuck the strips up under the bumpers and rockers and leave slack. Mounted correctly they clear normal driving, but take steep driveways slowly.

Is underglow legal on my Mustang?
